• stop premature optimization, important to tunnel vision sometimes and close your minds off
  • i am bad at this, get easily distracted by how we can make the best thing here

    • practice doing simple things and then building off them?
    • practice writing todos and thoughts down for how to improve later but focus on getting MVP
    • practice figuring out most basic MVP you can get in code that is valuable for building off
      • ex: what components are needed
      • ex: what wiring/glue is needed
  • talk about hackathon and getting drawn into this but actually working out bc of closing off other doors

  • while its helpful and nice to have a north star sometimes there isn’t enough info available for a satisfiable concrete north star implementation, need to just start trying things to figure out what works and what doesn’t
    • code wins arguments
• you can’t know for sure until you make
  • what is the balance of upfront intuition and having to create to find out
  • definitely helps to have some strong upfront opinion informed by actual user experiences but really need to get something to work with to know what the actual value is, esp. more so when it is a new thing
  • Easy to predict the value of something that already exists and you see people using it
    • caveat is it depends a lot on audience so be careful of biased data
    • but generally people are good at picking up these kinds of patterns
  • when you’re introducing something new, it’s hard to translate these hypotheses from observations accurately bc its a mish mash of things
    • ex: red, blue, green beautiful on their own but when you mix all together u get brown
    • same with cooking and mixing things that are delicious on their own
      • whole is not necessarily greater than sum of parts, sometimes less lol
  • ability of intuition to predict value is inversely proportional to how novel the product is
