- problem::
- there are a bunch of communication platforms
- social media: twitter, facebook, insta, etc.
- forums: reddit, hacker news
- embedded discussion: disqus
- all of them suffer from either being incomprehensive or out of place (in that the platform is not where they are normally going)
- how can we infuse social-ness into the experience of the internet and enable collaboration at a more granular scale?
- browsing web is inherently individual
- there are a bunch of communication platforms
- Idea::
- what if you could have discussion on any page / section of the internet with everyone in the same “group”
- how is this different from hypothes.is? doesn’t feel as personal. Can you make this feel more spontaneous and fun and alive while also supportiung the async use case?
- how is this different than makespace?

- way to get around lack of context would be injecting conv that link to it already from ur existing apps
- Pros
- in-place
- global

- Problems with disqus
- i think its hard bc what disqus tried to be isthis central hub where you can sign in with whatever u want or not sign in at all
- but people still dont want to put their info into anohter new thing
- like it has to feel native to whatever you’re used to
- but if you choose just one it doesnt feel like it captures everyone
- but i think it also suffers some from the failing of disqus in that people have to be on it first
