they took it all from me the wilderness ate my fear, swallowed it whole in one big Gulp.

the sparrow stole my safety, one porcelain piece at a time, one fractured chip was left.

the moon killed my pride, in cold blood, pounded its large head until it hatched.

the city claimed my virginity, seduced with an irresistible charm gentle caresses become a frozen chokehold.
