on my burial day

Tempered waves crash against buttresses of shining steel.

A scarlet haze settles over muted hearts and stolen thoughts.

A stolen heart returns to an unwelcome home, a forgotten owner.

A silent thought gasps for air, screams in the vaccuum.

Steel cracks and shatters to reveal a shining day, leafless corners a red herring, tinged with scarlet blots.
