Last night I met a girl I will never know

except for her stride—how it glides over water the oceans contained in her violet eyes when they met mine during reality’s intermission.

Last night I met a girl I’ll only imagine. Only imagine how her smile brokers world peace. Picture the ellipsis of her dimples when I gather

enough cleverness to trade in for a laugh, the kind that moves mountains, and for a second, I’ll wonder if I only imagined a star land in the iris of her eye.

Last night I met a girl four years ago I didnt know that 1126 days in the future she would become unknowable. Her mind set free in the forever river

leaving behind only dreams & mysteries, the way tides come & go and leave behind the most obscure of clues, a seashell here a kelp dagger there the

bones of my heart scattered all over last night, brilliant white molars pushing & grinding shells of dreams into silent stardust.
