I give my permission Move like a dead fish given a second life through alkaline crystal magic shaking to the now-growing beat, the spine of music who loves to drum. Let the science wash over you, the molecules bobbing along a lazy crater flooding your open pores, compounding harmonies birthed spontaneously rewiring your nerves. Let your mind go away. An all-inclusive vacation. Your body insists. It gives permission. Cheat day for your soul. Your house when the parents aren’t home. The kitchen when the roommates are out. Your room when the lights are off except for the city skyline crowning your silhouette, daring to lurch with the waves. Bouncing with the current, pulsing through the walls, the blurred lights, your shadow, your skin, cold fingers tingling with audacity. Go ahead. Dance.

Go ahead. Do it if you’re going to. Don’t dilly-dally. The day’s wasting away. I won’t be here forever. My legs won’t be mobile forever. My hands won’t be yearning forever. My permission won’t be present forever.
