charisma privilege and how i’m not settled in it
- this awareness comes from not having this and then gaining it (or i guess being very self aware)
- i wear it like an oversized coat, it’s not fitted to my skin, it hangs loosely so things can creep in vs having it just come naturally to you.
- kelsey and sahil wield it cunningly. kelsey knows exactly what she’s doing when she goes on dates with people or
- jessica zhou doesn’t have that, disarms with adorableness
- i need to be able to wield it as a weapon, fashion my
reflecting that i’m actually charismatic today
- a lot of things could’ve gone differently if i wasn’t just willing to talk and ask without hesitation.
- joked with person about the line and then talked about crypto and his job lol and then later he helped me with a bottle opener to finish the beer i had on me! also a random other person helped me too
- and then tragedy struck and someone knocked over my bottle and then i told someone about it
- talked w son and dad in line about the craziness of the line too and then later they helped me confirm my bag was back there when i left it like an idiot
- complimented the security guard on their tattoo and then they felt better about letting me go back too
- so many fractured timelines and forks
- next thing i need to start doing is to do this with attractive women because right now it’s very much im comfortable doing it with males
if you’re charismatic, it affords you a certain level of shamelessness in doing what you want because you’ll convince people that you’re doing something fine or good. I want to do more things that the old me would feel embarrassed to be associated with. I think those things fit the unique combination of being things that you actually want to do but have a high bar of doing if you’re too caught up on how your perception will be affected by it. The more you know yourself and the social context you surround yourself in. In other words, the more aware you are of yourself and how you fit into the world, the greater leverage you can apply to opening up your ideal path.
