Nouns DAO is a dao whose members are those that own any of the Noun NFTs. One Noun is created every day for the rest of time, and it’s an experiment in open-source IP.
There are a few things that make this DAO special and interesting:
- all proceeds from minting sale go directly to community treasury managed by the DAO
- the only “profit” from the sales that the creators get is ownership of every 10th noun for the first 5 years that go into a multi-sig wallet they control for them to distribute as they see fit
- project governed by Creative Commons No Rights Reserved license

which means anyone can use the Nouns name and characters to create anything. It’s in the public domain.
- bet on the fact that you don’t need copyright anymore and citations of any form will make the originals more important and valuable.

- The Nouns creators, or “nounders,” like to think of the project as a protocol or application layer for others to build upon.
- testnet playground is very easily accessible for anyone to create nouns and see what they look like (even shows how many nouns you’ve generated compared to actually)
- all the value is from being an official member of the DAO and focused on getting people on board with the project (even if they right click save a fake one)
